In Batu Pahat, a 25-year-old man suffered injuries after being assaulted by a group of eight men wielding sticks at the Pesta Site on Jalan Gangsa this Tuesday.
According to Batu Pahat District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ismail Dollah, the incident transpired as the victim awaited a friend's return from school at the designated location.
"While waiting for his friend, the victim was accosted by a group of eight men believed to be locals who attacked him with sticks," HE stated.
Managing to escape, the victim promptly sought refuge in his car and proceeded to report the incident at the Batu Pahat Police Station, as indicated in Thursday's statement.
The victim sustained injuries to his face, hands, and back, necessitating treatment at Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital (HSNI) in the area.

In response to the incident, law enforcement apprehended five men, aged between 16 and their 40s, to assist in the ongoing investigation.
"All suspects have been remanded for three days until tomorrow, and the police are now tracking down other suspects involved," Ismail affirmed.
The District Police Chief attributed the motive behind the assault to a misunderstanding between the victim and one of the suspects on the preceding day. He further disclosed that the case is under investigation pursuant to Section 148 of the Penal Code, addressing charges related to rioting.
