A video of a motorcyclist assaulting a dog by dragging it down the road with a rope has gone viral on Instagram.

The dog is seen attempting to catch up to the motorbike it is attached to in a video released by the non-profit group Paws Of Hope Malaysia on Monday, March 25.

Yet, after a while, it cannot keep up with the motorcycle's speed, causing it to slide and be dragged down the road.

"This is how stupid humans can be," mentioned the driver who recorded the incident.

It is believed that the video was shot at RPR Batu Kawa, Lorong Stapok 16a in Kuching, Sarawak.

According to SAYS, a witness stated that the man, who appeared to be taking his dog for a 'walk', violently accelerated his bike and dragged the dog along with him until the dog could barely stand.

"As you can see in the video, he only stopped when he was honked several times," Paws Of Hope Malaysia added.

In addition, the video has reached over 40,000 views on Instagram. It is understood that the original video, which was first shared to Facebook, has been removed.

In an update, Paws Of Hope Malaysia stated that the witness has filed a police report regarding the incident at issue.

"We just hope that the authorities will look into this case further and take appropriate action," they added.
