DBKL, in a recent statement, clarified that the manhole cover was likely displaced due to vandalism, not due to structural issues. The recurring displacement led to heightened worries over potential accidents, prompting swift action.

Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) responded by replacing the damaged cover with a new one in the early hours of Saturday, October 5, 2024. The new installation is expected to prevent further disruptions and ensure the safety of the public in the bustling Jalan Masjid India area.

DBKL also addressed the public's reaction to the viral video, urging caution in sharing content that could unnecessarily cause panic.

The swift resolution of the issue aims to reassure the public of DBKL's commitment to maintaining the city's infrastructure and ensuring safety.
