The Ministry of Health has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) together with 4 online health services companies to run 'Online Appointment' and 'Webinar' for learning COVID-19.
Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, the Health director-general, mentioned that the Online Appointment system is to allow patients to choose their appointment time to seek medical help at MoH health clinics. This initiative is set out to help reduce overcrowding at health clinics and for social distancing purposes.
The MOH collaborates with 4 major companies for the system, namely Queuemed, EncoreMed, BookDoc, and Doctoroncall.
MoH also collaborates with BookDoc for Covid-19 Webinar, which is to help channel out the correct and up-to-date health information relating to Covid-19.
According to the Health director-general, both the new initiatives were implemented at no cost to the government. It is part of the 4 companies' corporate social responsibility (CSR) for a 3 months period.
“It is hoped that these efforts will help reduce anxiety and raise the people’s level of awareness regarding complying with preventive measures recommended by the government in combating the COVID-19 pandemic,” he added.
The available time slot for the Online Appointment system starts from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, at participating health clinics. The list of participating health clinics can be accessed through the MOH portal.
Meanwhile, the Webinar can be accessed from 2.00 pm to 2.30 pm from Monday to Friday. The general public can view the webinar >here<.
