Two UiTM Students Found Dead In Less Than 24 Hours

The passing of two Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) students within just two days have indeed shocked the nation and more so, due to the cause of deaths.

On July 9th, a student of UiTM Kedah, the late Nur Natasya Ezreen Azemi passed away at her rental house due to a ruptured blood vessel & brain hemorrhage. She was a third-year Bachelor's student under the Faculty of Business and Management.

In less than 24 hours, on July 10th, another student of UiTM Jengka, the late Muhammad Adham Hazim Mohd Rizaini died from the same complications as the late Nur Natasya. The deceased was a Diploma student in his second semester under the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

According to online speculations, their cause of death was ruled as heavy stress & lack of sleep due to online distance learning (ODL), tests & overload of assignments. The students would have gone into their 14th week of the semester in the upcoming week.

Twitter saw many netizens offering their condolences to the deceased.

Allahuakbar, just found out that another uitm student (from other campus) meninggal today due to pendarahan dalam otak.

The students are voicing out their fear as well as dissatisfaction against the current assessment methods in higher learning institutes.

It's always "students, take care of yourself, get enough rest" and never "unis, take care of your student, dont give too much work". May my fellow uitm and ipt students dilindungi Allah.

I'm suddenly scared when read about the uitm kedah & uitm jengka pahang student who recently passed away because I'm also lack of sleep.

It’s 4.28am and i still haven't sleep yet because of need to record for video presentation.
