Based on reports, McDonald's is buying it's 30-year-old Israel franchise from Alonyal, taking back ownership of 225 McD outlets.
Since the restaurant has been hit with the boycott movement due to Israel's violence towards Palestine and then agreeing to donate free meals to the Israel military, their franchise's sales have dipped worldwide by 0.7% outside the United States.
The terms of the deal has not yet been revealed, however, they have noted that the 5,000 employees will be retained.
McDonald's despite being a global chain, has its franchises owned locally and operate autonomously.
It's CEO said previously the company had seen "meaningful business impact" in several markets in the Middle East and some outside the region due to the Israel-Hamas violence.
McDonald's added that it remains committed to the Israeli market and to ensuring a positive employee and customer experience in the market going forward.
After the completion of the transaction in the coming months though, McDonalds will own Alonyal's outlets and operations.
