ICYMI: WATCH: Father Working Offshore Surprises Son After 4 Months In An Emotional Reunion
A video of a young boy helping out his mother at their food stall every day after school has won the hearts of many, earning praises for the child.
The 20-second video has garnered 84,200 likes and widespread attention since it was posted on TikTok five days ago by the child's mother, user @pakyadbendang.
@pakyadbendang Kadang2 anak kita kurang dari sudut lain, tapi dia lebih dari sudut lain. Hargai dan rai la setiap anak2. #pakyadbendang #penangviral #kedaimeekuahpenang #meekuahudang #foodietiktok original sound - Luna karam لونا كرم
The video shows Muhammad Zarif Naufal helping out with wiping down tables and doing the dishes at their family's eatery, 'Pakya D Bendang'. Zarif had demonstrated an admirable sense of responsibility that is beyond his years.
Standing on a chair, Zarif helped arrange glasses and other kitchen utensils on a tall stainless steel cabinet alongside his mother.
Text in the video read: "Even though he finished last in class, he has always helped me out at the stall. Sometimes our children may be lacking in one area, but make up for it in another. Appreciate and nurture each child," the mother said in the caption.
User @T.MUAZ commented on the post and said: "When I become a father, I won't ask for my children to become rich. It's enough for my child to be a good person and help out their parents."
Meanwhile, user@DarlingSyu said: "Failing in academics doesn't necessarily mean one is not successful. There are many skills and in other fields where one can excel."
Another user, @Tiramisu Latte, shared how her friend used to go through the same thing.
"There was a friend of mine who was like this. In the morning, he would help his mum at the store, and he was ridiculed by the teacher every day because of it. Today, he is a successful person. Alhamdulillah."
