Mother Nature can be a scary force to be reckoned with at times. With natural disasters occurring all over the world, Malaysia is not exempt from her grip, causing multiple accounts of damage along the way.

In a viral 22 second video, an incident of strong winds resembling a tornado, were shown swirling around and blowing off the zinc roofing of multiple buildings in Batu Lahat yesterday.

After being contacted by Bernama, Lahad Datu district police chief ACP Rohan Shah Ahmad, confirmed the incident took place at Jalan Segama Industrial State, Batu 1 in the afternoon. Police personnel were then dispatched to the scene at 2.40pm.

According to witnesses at the scene, the incident had occurred at around 1:30pm and happened rapidly, taking place within the span of 60 seconds

Thankfully, no causalities have been reported from the wind. The police have also not received any further reports from the public, he stated.
