After the disatisfaction with the whole Taylor-Swift-only-performing-in-Singapore thing, Thailand is stepping up!
Based on latest announcements, Thailand will be hosting two major music festivals this year as “quick wins” for Thailand’s economy—Summer Sonic and Tomorrowland.
Summer Sonic will be coming to SEA for the first time with dates set for Aug 24 and 25 in Bangkok after doing shows in Tokyo and Osaka. Besides that, Tomorrowland will also be hosted in 2026.
Thai PM identified the measures as ways to stimulate Thailand’s economy which has seen an average growth short of 2% in the past decade, where 4% was the norm.
He was also unhappy with missing out T.Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour which was hosted in Singapore (the only SEA stop). Stettha called the move “smart” and said Thailand should seek to carry out such strategies to bring in tourists and boost economy.
Are you stoked? We are!
