In a shocking turn of events, reports have now uncovered, that in the case of a woman scalding a down syndrome man, hot water was not actually used to abuse the poor man, but in actuality, a form of chemical substance was used instead.
As reported by Oriental Daily, the victims family members have now confirmed that the culprit had thrown a suspected chemical solution at the disabled man in a lift instead of the aforementioned innocent liquid.
However at this time, doctors are unable to confirm what type of chemical it was, but are currently waiting for laboratory reports to determine the exact liquid substance that was used.
The 33 year old man with down syndrome was recently attacked by a woman while riding an apartment lift, as she threw a now suspected chemical liquid at his face, leading to multiple burns on the front and back of his body. He was subsequently taken to Penang General Hospital for treatment to his serious injuries.
Deputy Chief of Police of the South West District of Penang Island, Jafery Lee, has also now confirmed that the woman involved in this incident had been arrested at around 9:12pm on Friday the 19th of April where the crime occurred, where they also seized her handbag and thermos containing the liquid.
"The police took the suspect to court on Saturday to apply for an extension of detention to assist with investigations." Lee stated.
The case had occurred at 9:24 am on Friday morning inside a lift of the I-Park condominium in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
