Malaysia‘s current Prime Minister Muhyiddin has finally announced the highly anticipated relaxed SOPs that every Malaysian has been anxiously waiting for.
According to the announcement, fully vaccinated individuals will be able to enjoy the privilege of dining in, traveling interstates, among other things. The question is, who will count as vaccinated individuals in this case?
• Those who have received double-dose vaccines (Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Sinovac recipients) at least 14 days after their second dose
• Those who have received single-dose vaccines (Johnson & Johnson & CanSino recipients) 28 days after vaccination
Without further ado, here are the new relaxed SOPs, only for fully vaccinated individuals:
• Malaysian and PR residents returning to Malaysia from other countries are allowed home quarantine
• Long-distance couples are allowed to cross-district and cross-states
• Parents are allowed to do the same to visit children below 18 years old
• Mosque prayers are allowed, but with strict SOPs (with a limited amount of individuals at a time)
For fully vaccinated individuals in Phase 2 onwards:
• Cross-district is allowed given a digital certificate is present
• Dine-in is allowed given a digital certificate is present
• Any sports activities without physical contact is allowed
