Kuching: A man had to endure pain for almost an hour after his left hand got stuck in a flour mixer at a food processing factory in Jalan Muara Tuang, Kota Samarahan, near here, today.
The incident happened at around 10 AM while the 22-year-old victim was mixing flour.
It is understood that some of his friends tried to remove the victim's hand, but their efforts failed.
Those anxious by the incident then called the emergency line to ask for help.
A spokesman for the Operations Center, Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) Sarawak said they received a call regarding the incident at 10.35am.
He said seven members from the Kota Samarahan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) assisted by two EMRS members from BBP Batu Lintang were rushed to the scene.
“Upon arrival at the scene, it was found a man was in excruciating pain.
"Firefighters used special equipment to remove the victim's hand," he said in a statement, today.
He said the victim suffered only minor injuries and was sent to Sarawak General Hospital (HUS) for further treatment.
He said the operation ended completely at 11.50am.
