For those who often visit supermarkets to purchase fresh items like vegetables, fish, and chicken, you'll likely notice products labelled as "organic," which are usually sold at higher prices.
Apart from avoiding the use of fertilizers and pesticides, some opt for organic produce due to its freshness and perceived safety.
While the quality of organic ingredients and products in supermarkets is usually top-notch, occasionally a problematic item slips through the cracks.
At least that's what happened to a woman named Amber Worrick in Michigan, who was on her routine weekly grocery shopping when her child screamed because there was something else in their package of spinach.
Recounting the incident, she mentioned hearing her daughter's scream after bringing home a pack of organic spinach from a local supermarket there. Without hesitation, Amber examined the package of vegetables and found a live frog inside the bag of spinach.
She stated that she didn't notice the creature when picking it off the shelf, nor did she feel any movement in the bag of spinach she had taken. Nevertheless, Amber returned the spinach and received a full refund for her purchase.
According to a statement from the spinach supplier company, their organic farming practices contribute to promoting biodiversity and a healthy ecosystem within and around their farms. Simultaneously, they claim to continue their efforts to supply consumers with fresh and high-quality vegetables.
However, Amber mentioned that the company promised that their products had been washed three times. Therefore, it's quite unlikely that the frog could have survived and remained in the bag after the claimed three washes by the company.
