A 14-year-old student sustained minor leg injuries after falling from the first-floor school roof shortly after vaping, NSTP reported.
It is thought that the event, which happened at around 11 a.m., was brought on by dizziness and a lack of control due to vaping.
The student acknowledged, vaping in class after break, which made him feel dizzy, according to Rose Aza Che Ariffin, Director of the Perlis State Education Department.
According to reports, the student was examined at Kangar Health Clinic after the fall, and the results of his drug test were negative.
However, it is said that further investigations are to continue even though the results were negative as sources indicate that he may used a "mushroom-flavoured" vape which happens to be popular among students.
According to Rose Aza, the department and the school are working with the police to look into the situation.
"We have instructed the school, through its discipline teacher, to investigate and identify the vape supplier, as well as to follow up on the students urine test before submitting an initial report to the Student Affairs Unit at the Perlis State Education Department."
"We will also help the school prepare an initial report and a series of action to be taken under the Student Self-Identity System (SSDM) regarding this vaping case", she said.
The school has also assured that the student will receive its full support to ensure proper recovery for him.
