The Health Director-General, Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said to the press that there are more men tested positive for Covid-19 as compared to women in Malaysia and it is not because of medical factors.
According to statistics, there are 75% male Covid-19 patients, while female, only made up of a quarter of the total number of cases.

He explained that nearly 40% of the Covid-19 patients are linked to the Sri Petaling tabligh cluster, which was attended mostly by men, and thus the number skewed.
“We also found that most of the deaths are from that tabligh event,” said Dr. Noor Hisham in his daily briefings today (April 14).
The tabligh event is Malaysia’s single largest Covid-19 cluster. It was held from 27th February to 3rd March of 2020, with about 16,000 people attended.
According to Dr. Hisham, the ministry has detected 5 "generation" of positive COVID-19 cases that were related to the gathering, and up to April 10, there are 1,701 cases linked to the tabligh gathering.
