5 Ways to Practice Self-Love in the New Year

29-Dec-2021
By ellephant

The common saying is new year, new me.

Solely leaning on that, we were thinking what better way to make that real, than finding all the small ways in which we can love ourselves better come 2022.

Here are 5 to get you started!

#1 Have a good cry

When sh*t hurts, sh*t hurts. Allow yourself to feel that pain and cry it out as much as you need to. There is strength in tears.

#2 Have difficult conversations

It's good to go with the flow, but it's better to ensure that you're not being stepped on in the process. You deserve respect no matter the person. So if they aren't giving it to you, be honest to yourself and to them.

#3 Forgive

Forgiveness isn't for them, it's for you. You would be happier, lighter and more at peace. Forgive, but always remember the lessons left behind.

#4 Walk at your own pace

Don't compare, don't force yourself and don't let others push you. Grow, learn, unlearn and relearn, but all at your own pace.

#5 Breathe

And when life gets too much, just breathe. It may seem like nothing, but try it, and it could very well be the first step to everything.

As 2022 comes, take this time to put yourself first, and then everything else will fall into place.
