A black panther weighing about 40kg has died after being hit by a MPV at Bukit Tangga, Jelebu yesterday.
Jelebu district police chief DSP Maslan Udin said "A panther suddenly came out from the right side of the road and the man was unable to avoid the animal. The panther managed to make its way to a nearby drain about 4m away and eventually died. The man and his family did not suffer any injuries."
The panther's remains were handed over to the Negeri Sembilan Wildlife Protection and National Parks Department for further action.
