In a bizarre turn of events, Liu Liange, the former chairman of a prominent bank in China, convinced his son to end his relationship with his girlfriend, only to later marry her himself. This revelation has shocked many, shedding light on the controversial personal life of the 63-year-old banker, who is also embroiled in legal troubles.
According to MS News, Liu's son brought his girlfriend home to introduce her to the family, hoping for their approval. However, Liu dismissed the young woman, claiming she wasn't a suitable match for their family. Out of respect for his fathers wishes, the son ended the relationship, leaving him heartbroken.
Six months later, the son discovered a devastating twist his father was now romantically involved with the same woman he had been told to leave. This betrayal reportedly plunged the son into deep depression.
This scandal is just one chapter in Liu's tumultuous personal life. Public records reveal that Liu has been married four times, with each wife younger than the last. The South China Morning Post reported that his career began with the support of his first wife, the daughter of a high-ranking official. However, after gaining recognition, Liu divorced her to marry a younger mistress.
Liu's downfall extended beyond his personal life. On November 26, Reuters reported that he was given a suspended death sentence for corrupt financial activities. He was found guilty of accepting over 121 million yuan in bribes and illegally approving loans totaling more than 3.32 billion yuan.
While Liu received a two-year reprieve from execution due to his confession and the recovery of most stolen funds, his death sentence will be enforced if he commits further crimes during this period.
