The short clip, shared by one of the firefighters involved, showed the team staring into the drain with exasperated expressions before revealing the trapped cow belly up and hooves flailing in the air. Despite their best efforts, the animal seemed uncooperative, kicking wildly and splashing water as the rescue unfolded.
According to Weirdkaya, firefighter Mohd Supian bin Norharun, the incident took place on December 30 at Puncak Erskine 1, Tanjung Tokong. The cow had reportedly been shoved into the drain by other cows. A team of six firefighters worked for 40 minutes to free the distressed animal, facing difficulties due to the narrow space and the cows resistance.
The viral video, which has since gained nearly 5 million views, sparked plenty of online reactions. Some netizens speculated that the cow was simply throwing a tantrum, while others couldn't help but laugh at the firefighters expressions, with one commenting that they looked so done with the situation.
In the end, abang Bomba once again proved their dedication not just to saving lives but also to handling Malaysia's most unexpected rescue calls.
