Italy was the first European country to implement nationwide restrictions to control the spread of COVID-19. More than 31,600 Italians have died of COVID-19 and Italy became the third-highest death toll in the world after the US and UK.
On May 4, the factories and parks were allowed to reopen as part of the initial relaxation. On May 18, the shops are scheduled to open as long as safety protocols, such as strict social distancing and hygiene rules are followed. The Italian government also allowed its citizens to move within individual regions to visit friends on the same day.

Another good news is that the Italian government also approved a decree that will allow travel to and from abroad from June 3 as the government wish to retrieve the expected vacation season when Italians traditionally leave the cities for their yearly summer holidays. The decree also mentioned that the National health authorities will observe the circumstances to ensure infections are kept in check.
