PORT DICKSON: A police report has been lodged over a viral video on social media of a customer's regret over the treatment and lack of concern of hotel management in the district, following an accident at the building.
Port Dickson District Police Chief, Superintendent Aidi Sham Mohamed said the police received the police report at about 4.04pm yesterday from a 47-year-old woman who was an employee of the hotel management division.
The report was made following a video that was posted on Tiktok and Facebook from an account regarding a customer's regret and dissatisfaction with the treatment and lack of concern of the hotel management.
"This is due to an incident on January 12 where a child of a hotel customer is said to have suffered six percent burn injuries on the hands and body due to a hot water spill," he said in a statement here today.
According to Aidi Sham, the family had lodged a complaint blaming the hotel management regarding the renovation and the position of the layout of the appliances in the room that caused the incident to happen to her child.
"The hotel management offered their sympathies and returned the hotel payment to the victim's family and denied not caring about the incident that happened to the victim's family but instead took note of the complaint made," he said.
In a 52-second video, it is understood the legs of the refrigerator were modified from its original state causing instability that made it fall and nearly hit the child.
Unfortunately, next to the refrigerator there was an electric kettle with freshly heated water that also fell causing hot water to spill on the child, burning the child's body.
"A report was made to the hotel but unfortunately only a small amount of compensation was given and it is not commensurate with what happened to my child," claimed the account owner Tiktok @harrunarashid123.
