Things have been pretty much on the pricey end for most of us Malaysians and it has been tough. 

Not to add, the cost of our favourite breakfast meal has increased significantly.

Data from the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) reveals a number of states that appear to sell food at much higher prices.

As the nation's capital, you might assume it might be Kuala Lumpur or Selangor, but it's not. Instead, it's Pahangs Lipis, Johors Kota Tinggi and Sarawaks Asajaya. 

Did you know that in Sarawak, a plain roti canai costs RM2 and teh tarik, RM3.50? That's insane!

In contrast, Pahang's Jerantut and Putrajaya have the most expensive roti canai in the Peninsula, costing RM1.80, while Pahang's Rompin and Terengganu's Dungun have the least expensive ones, costing just RM1.

The most expensive teh tarik can be found in West Malaysia's Klang, Selangor, for RM2.30, while the least expensive is found in Kuala Muda, Kedah, for RM1.20.
