M'sian Expresses Shock At RM300 Price Tag For Ordinary Dates, Netizens Give Out Their Opinions

A Malaysian individual recently took to social media to express shock at the high price tags attached to ordinary dates. In their post, they questioned how young people can afford such expensive outings, citing an average cost of RM300 for a full-day date that doesn't even include extravagant activities.

The breakdown of a typical full-day date includes brunch or lunch for two, ranging from RM60 to RM100. Movie tickets for a couple can cost around RM50, and adding a popcorn set adds another RM20. Additionally, expenses for dessert, juice, or snacks in between activities can amount to RM20-RM30. Lastly, a dinner at a local eatery with Mi Tarik, dumplings, and tax can add up to around RM50.

Netizens who commented on the post suggested that instead of opting for costly outings, individuals should consider more affordable alternatives such as finding a spot by the lake for a picnic, cooking at home, and engaging in meaningful conversations. They argue that this approach can provide a higher quality experience compared to expensive dates.

It is important to note that preferences and lifestyles differ among individuals, and while some may enjoy lavish dates, others appreciate simpler, more budget-friendly options. The rising costs of dating have sparked conversations among Malaysians, prompting discussions about creative ways to spend time together without breaking the bank.
