“It’s permissible”, as JAKIM has now addressed a recent issue involving writing Xmas greetings on a cake by a halal bakery shop.
Prior to that, the backlash had reportedly unfolded where a customer’s Xmas cake order was denied by a particular premise.
The latter justified that fulfilling festive greetings weren’t permissible, and feared its halal certificate would be revoked by JAKIM.
As complaints soon made their way to the Islamic affairs agency, a statement was then released to put the issue to rest.
