Time Out has just released the best places to visit in Asia come the new year, and guess what? Ipoh has made the cut!
According to Time Out, the list details the top 10 emerging Asian destinations that travellers need to put on their bucket list, with input from the magazine's editors and travel contributors.
They also asserted that the destinations featured in the list are emerging hotspots for travellers searching for alternatives to popular destinations such as Bali, Tokyo and Bangkok.
Here's the list:
1. Sumba, Indonesia
2. Siargao, the Philippines
3. Da Nang, Vietnam
4. Tainan, Taiwan
5. Ipoh, Malaysia
6. Osaka, Japan
7. Nan, Thailand
8. Lijiang, China
Some of the city's USPs highlighted in the piece includes easy access and mobility to the city via the Eastern & Oriental Express train route, its historic buildings, charming shophouses, limestone cliffs and unique cave temples.
For food lovers, its chicken rice at Restaurant Lou Wong Tauge Ayam Kuetiau, kai see hor fun at Restoran Tuck Kee, nasi ganja at Kedai Kopi Yong Suan, and kaya puffs from Sin Eng Heong.
