With all the night markets not allowed to open yet, where can you get a nice and tasty Apam Balik? Hmm... but if you can make one yourself at home, why worry about where to buy it, right? Let’s get started!
What you need:
Caster sugar - 40g
Egg - 1
Water - 160ml
Self-raising flour - 150g (sieved)
Soda powder - 1/2 teaspoon
For fillings:
Granulated sugar
Crushed peanuts
Butter
Sweet corn cream
Directions:
1. Combine egg, caster sugar and water, mix well
2. Stir in self-raising flour, wait for 20 minutes
3. When the saucepan is heated, turn to low heat
4. Spread a layer of batter onto the saucepan
5. When small bubbles appear, add sugar, crushed peanuts, cream corn, and some butter
6. Fold the apam balik into half once the surface turns brown or the edge becomes crispy
