If you are like me, one of the unlucky people who sweats a little too much causing body odour, then you must have tried everything from anti-perspirants to natural deodorants.
While anti-perspirants do a good job of reducing body odour as it literally stops your pits from sweating, it has gotten a bad reputation. The main reason why people are worried about using them is because when they stop you from sweating through your pits, all the unwanted toxins that were supposed to be released are now trapped in your body, clogging your pores.
On the other hand, while natural deodorants don’t really turn your body into a toxin trap, they don’t really completely mask your body odour. With only natural ingredients, it doesn’t actually have anything in it that can kill the odour producing bacteria in your armpits.
That’s where armpit detoxing comes in.
What is it?
Armpit detoxing is a DIY way for you to reduce your body odour without using anti-perspirants. They help to unclog your toxin filled pores and kill those stinky bacteria living in your armpits.
As armpit detoxing is rising to fame, there are two main ingredients that are present in all DIY recipes, and they are there for a reason. The first ingredient is clay, which can help to remove gunk from your skin by encouraging your pores to open and produce sweat to push out whatever that trapped in your sweat glands.
The next ingredient is apple cider vinegar. It is mildly acidic which makes it a good exfoliator and it is also antimicrobial which means it helps reduce the bacteria on your underarms which is the main reason for your stank.
How to do it?
The most basic and simple recipe just requires the two main ingredients, clay and some apple cider vinegar. Mix the ingredients together in a bowl using some wooden cutlery because you should never use metal when handling clay! Metal spoons could deactivate the clay.
Apply the smooth paste on your armpits and let it dry for about 10 to 20 minutes. Go take a shower and wash the area thoroughly and you are done.
To find out if it actually works, you can do a few sniff tests throughout the day. Repeat this step every day before your showers to ensure odour free, fresh smelling pits. If you feel you need to apply some deodorant, make sure it’s the natural kind and not anti-perspirants.
