PUTRAJAYA - Getting braces or veneers is allowed only for the purpose of treatment due to f tooth decay as well as to restore the original tooth function.
That is what the Federal Territory Mufti's Office (PMWP) stated regarding the law on wearing braces and braces through the 663rd Irshad Al-Fatwa Series article released today.
PMWP said, based on the arguments presented, the law on wearing braces or veneers is a must.
They said, there is no need to wear veneers or braces if there is no weaknesses on the teeth or just if it is just for beauty purposes.
Cosmetic treatments that can change God's creation can only be accepted in situations of urgent need and not solely for beauty purposes (tahsiniyyah).
Veneer is an artificial coating material that is used to be attached to the tooth surface to improve the appearance of the tooth structure and to protect the tooth surface from damage.
"Meanwhile, braces have various functions that are used for medical treatment such as lengthening short teeth due to wear and tear and filling the black triangle between teeth due to spacing," they said.
