ALOR SETAR: A man was found dead on the roof of a house in Lorong Pauh, Derga, believed to be due to an electric shock.
In the incident, the 38-year-old victim was believed to be doing maintenance work on the roof of the house.
Alor Setar Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief, Deputy Fire Superintendent II Ahmad Naufal Abdullah, said they received a call regarding the incident at 11.46am.
He said a team of members arrived at the location after receiving an MERS emergency call from the Kedah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Center (PGO).
"When members arrived at the location, it was found that there was a man lying on the roof and believed to have been electrocuted while doing maintenance work on the roof of the house.
"The victim was confirmed dead by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the action of the operations commander together with BBP Alor Setar members was to do rescue work to bring the victim down using a stretcher.
"The victim's body was then handed over to the police for further action," he said.
Meanwhile, Kota Setar District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Shukri Mat Akhir when contacted confirmed receiving a report on the incident and classified the case as sudden death.
The victim's body was sent to the Forensic Department of Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) for further action.
