A voting centre in Bukit Mertajam became a site of tension after a man was initially turned away due to his attire.
The man in question reportedly donned knee-length shorts, which were deemed inapproriate by an on-site personnel at the entry. Instead, he was told that he’s only allowed to return and cast a vote once he’d changed into trousers.
Upon hearing the issue, fellow Pakatan candidate, Wang Lili, raised query by stating that such attire guidelines had not been lined out by the Election Committee.
The fellow voter was then allowed entry after the issue was resolved.
Most netizens, on the other hand, were on the fence with the situation as they remarked that it’s a common sense for one to don proper attire at any formal events.
