The body of a missing man from Klang, identified as Nidza Afham, was discovered yesterday in the Klang River, bringing an end to a tense search led by his family and authorities. The Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, confirmed the identity of the deceased, who had been reported missing days earlier.
Nidzas disappearance had sparked an intensive search effort, with his family deeply involved. His father, in a poignant attempt to locate him, recited the Azan (call to prayer) at the Jambatan Sungai Klang the evening before the discovery, hoping for a sign of his whereabouts. The family's prayers were answered, albeit tragically, when a fisherman spotted the body around 7 PM and immediately notified the authorities.
Initial investigations by the police have raised suspicions that Nidza's death may be linked to a robbery. His wallet and phone were discovered on the bridge under suspicious circumstances. While his debit card and cash were missing, the wallet still contained his identification card, student ID, and a photo, hinting at a possible foul play.
The deceased's sister, Nur Irfahanie Mokhtar, expressed concern about the condition of her brother's body, although the family remains in the dark about its exact state. Her husband, Muhammad Effie Amron, was tasked with identifying the body. Though overcome with emotion, he was certain it was Nidza based on his appearance and the clothing he was last seen wearing, despite the changes caused by the prolonged exposure to water.
Nidza Afham was not just an ordinary young man; he was known for his appearance on the popular reality TV show I Can See Your Voice 3 and had even released a single titled "Ternyata Bukan Aku." His sudden and tragic death has left his fans and loved ones in deep mourning.
The investigation into his death is ongoing as the police work to uncover the full circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
