As the new school term begins, parents everywhere face the familiar task of wrapping their children's textbooks. But instead of spending money on new book covers, one Malaysian mom came up with an innovative and eco-friendly alternative to reusing transparent plastic bags.
TikTok user @chentaharis93 recently shared a video demonstrating how she repurposed plastic bags to wrap her child's schoolbooks. The simple yet effective hack quickly gained attention, with many praising it as both budget-friendly and sustainable.

According to WeirdKaya, Chenta Haris revealed that this was her first time trying out this method. She initially planned to discard the plastic bags but noticed they were still in good condition.
"At the same time, my kid's schoolbooks needed covering, and with prices rising, I thought why not use these?" she explained.
She also highlighted the durability of these plastic bags, noting that they don't tear easily and provide great protection for textbooks. Beyond just saving money, the initiative allows her to allocate funds to more pressing expenses for her children's medical needs.
"Even though we received some school assistance, I still had to buy books and pay fees. Since my children need medical treatment, every bit of savings helps," she shared.
Her resourceful approach resonated with many online, with netizens calling it a "win-win solution" that benefits both the environment and household budgets.
