Another heartbreaking news today, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that the first death among our Malaysian medical staff was the 9th COVID-19 death case in our country.
The 48-year-old doctor was patient number 890 and admitted to Tuanku Fauziah Hospital in Kangar on March 17 after he got symptoms of COVID-19. His infection was believed not caused in the hospital but because of traveling from Turkey recently. The doctor was admitted to Tuanku Fauziah Hospital in Kangar on March 17 after showing symptoms of Severe Acute Respiratory infection.
According to The Star, Health director-general Datuk Seri Noor Hisham Abdullah reported that,
"The patient has a travel history to Turkey and arrived back in the country on March 8."
"He was then warded at the HTF on March 17 after showing symptoms of severe acute respiratory infection and was later confirmed positive Covid-19 on March 18.
"He has been on respiratory support since March 19 after his condition deteriorated, and eventually passed away at 10.33 am today,"
