1936, Berlin

Get ready because this is going to be one long ride. So, it all started after Stella Walsh of Poland lost the 100-meter dash to American Helen Stephens. Stella’s supporters were sore losers okay, and they were like “Exsqueeze me, we think Helen Stephens’ time is too fast for a woman. We think she’s a male and you have check her gender now!”

After nagging the Olympics Committee non-stop, they got their way and poor Helen had to allow the Olympic committee to look at her privates to confirm that she had a vagina and not a penis. Since she had the vagina, the commotion ended but the story still goes on.

Around ten years later, Stella Walsh od Poland was shot dead outside a Cleveland shopping. After performing the autopsy, they discovered that Stella Walsh had a penis. So, all along someone is the woman race actually had a penis and it wasn’t Helen Stephens!

+ High jump

At that time, Hitler proudly watched as Dora Ratjen represented Germany at the 1936 Olympics. She earned fourth place and two years later she would set a new high record for women’s high jump.

Once again, around 10 years later, it was discovered that Dora Ratjen was actually Hermann Ratjen, a man who had been forced to live and compete as a woman by the Nazi government.

Well, the 1936 Olympics sure had a good amount of these gender twists, didn’t they?

1956, Melbourne

During this Olympics, the tensions between Hungary and the Soviet Union which led to a “blood bath” during the water polo match between the two countries. The players began throwing punch at one another in the water and the referee was forced to end the game after some of the players started bleeding.

1960, Rome

In the fencing part of the pentathlon, the Tunisian athletes really thought they could fool everyone. The tried to secretly send out their expert fencer for every match instead of switching him out with the other players.

Sadly for them, the third time they sent out the sae swordsman, the hoax was discovered.

Buckle up, it is another long ride. So, a Polish sprinter, Ewa Kłobukowska, won a gold medal in the 4×100-meter relay and a bronze medal in the 100-meter sprint.

Unfortunately, in 1967, she was stripped of her medals after she failed a gender test. But wait, the story is not over. Years later, Ewa gave birth to a son! Turns out, she must have had a genetic abnormality.

All I know is, gender testing is definitely flawed.

1968, Mexico City

This scandal involves twins! I bet you can guess what happened. So, Madeline de Jesus, a Puerto Rican track and field athlete got injured during the long jump event. Trying to be smart, she decided, “Hmm I’m gonna send my twin sister Margaret, to run in a qualifying heat while I recover from this huge ouchie”.

Sadly, the Puerto Rican coach found out her devious plans and he shut the whole thing down.

1988, Seoul

Ooo, this story is juicy. So, after American Roy Jones Jr. pummelled South Korean Park Si-Hun or three rounds, landing 86 punches to Park's 32, the judges somehow decided that South Korean Park Si-Hun was the winner. It was an OUTRAGE! Everyone knew that Roy was the true champion. But sadly, the decision was not reversed.

However, later on, the judges admitted that they were wooed by the South Korean officials with some wine and a nice dinner. After being wined and dined, they felt pressure to award the medal to their athlete.

2008, Beijing

+ Gymnastics

While winning two old medal, He Kexin, a Chinese gymnast was also dealing with a huge rumour that she actually wasn’t allowed to compete. The reason for this rumour was because her passport stated that she was 16 years old at the time, but some other registration systems featured a 1994 birthday for her, making her 14 and ineligible.

During an interview she said that she was 16 and the International Olympic Committee just decided to leave it at that.

+ Taekwondo

When Cuban Taekwondo athlete Angel Matos was disqualified for going overtime on an allotted time-out he went on a rampage and attacked two officials. It wasn’t worth it because after that whole scandal he and his coach were banned from the Olympics for life.
