WATCH: M'sian Police Bribed Only RM50-RM100 To Let Illegal Immigrants Enter The Country
As of recently, those who still read the news know that there has been a spike in two cases, illegal immigrants getting caught and more policemen and government officials getting nabbed for bribery.
One of the videos that's been circulating the net recently is a video that was taken in 2016 of an Indonesian journalists disguised as an illegal immigrant, entered Tawau Sabah with only RM50-RM100 as a bribe to the Malaysian authorities.
The video was reposted on a Facebook page called Kongsi Segala Info a few days ago and since that it has been re-shared on Twitter by a user named @nanmanjoi8715 and has garnered over 24.6K retweets, 1,749 quote tweets and 17.4K likes.
In the video, we can see some immigrants on a boat and a narrator talking about what's happening in the video. In the first 30 seconds of the video, a Malaysian police boat can be seen and the narrator tells the viewers that a sum of money has already been prepared beforehand as a bribe for the police.
As they approach Malaysian waters, the people on the boat were asked to crouch to avoid being seen. If any police on duty is around the area, a fisherman's boat is prepared and used specifically to hide the immigrants from the local authorities on duty.
Once the coast is clear, they are transported one by one out of the fisherman's boat to the small boat where they will have to pay a fee first in order to be taken to the shore.
Once the fee is paid, the immigrant is then transported to the shores.
