In a devastating event in Jelutong earlier this Sunday afternoon, four parked cars in the Mutiara Idaman Apartment parking area were destroyed in a massive fire.
The Operations Center of the Penang Fire & Rescue Department received a report regarding the incident at 3:50pm, a spokesman stated. He further added that a team of members from the Jalan Perak Fire & Rescue Station was quickly dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, it was discovered that in the parking lot, a Perodua Kancil, Honda Accord, Perodua Myvi and a Proton Saga, were already around 70 percent heavily burned.
"The fire was successfully brought under control at 4.02pm and the fire was completely extinguished 14 minutes later," he announced in a statement here on Sunday.
Further investigations are now currently being carried out by the fire forensics team to identify the cause of the incident.
