Based on reports, the town of Chukai in Kemaman and its surrounding areas were hit by a severe storm and hail, causing widespread damage to public infrastructure and uprooting trees today.
The unusual weather was accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds.
Social media users at the scene were quick to share footage of small ice pellets scattered across roads. It was a rare occurrence in the area, and many residents were seen taking shelter under roofs as they waited for the storm to pass.

The storm left one man with a broken leg after being struck by debris from a collapsed rest shelter roof.
The town's District Police Chief, Superintendent Hanyan Ramlan, said the storm and hail affected an area within a 30-kilometer radius from the town center.
"A man was injured after being hit by debris from a collapsed rest shelter roof during the storm," he stated.
At the time of the incident, the victim was reportedly seeking shelter from the storm at Pantai Mak Nik.
