Johor authorities have initiated a comprehensive investigation following the discovery of fast-food receipts allegedly containing anti-Islamic content across multiple districts. The case came to light after news portal BuletinTV3 published images of the controversial receipts.
Johor Police Chief Datuk M Kumar confirmed that the incidents occurred at fast-food establishments in three different locations - Kluang, Batu Pahat, and Muar - over December 19 and 20. Investigators believe the purchases were made by a single individual.
The case has prompted the opening of three separate investigation papers under different legal provisions:
Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948
Section 298 of the Penal Code
Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998
"We are actively working to locate the suspect responsible for these incidents," he added. He emphasized the police force's commitment to maintaining public order, noting that they view any attempts to disturb religious harmony with utmost seriousness.
The police chief issued a stern warning that authorities would take decisive action against individuals who deliberately compromise public safety or social harmony. "There will be no compromise when it comes to preserving our nation's peace and protecting religious sensitivities," he declared.
