Kanye West has released a new song, Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine, which features his 11-year-old daughter, North West, alongside Sean "Diddy" Combs, also known as Puff Daddy. The rapper, 47, shared the track on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, March 15. The song also features West's 26-year-old son, King, and a new artist from Chicago, Jasmine Williams, who is signed to West's Yeezy label.

The track opens with a voice recording, seemingly of Combs and West having a phone conversation. In the recording, Combs, 55, expresses his gratitude to West for taking care of his children, with the conversation highlighting the strong bond between the two artists. "I wanna just thank you so much for just taking care of my kids, man," Combs says. "Ain't nobody reach out to them, ain't nobody call them." West responds, "Absolutely, I love you so much, man. You raised me. Even when I ain't know you, know what I'm saying?"

In addition to Combs' contributions, North can be heard rapping, "When you see me shining, then you see the light," as part of her debut on the track.

However, the release of the song has sparked controversy. West shared now-deleted screenshots of a text conversation with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, in which she told him she had trademarked their daughter's name to prevent the song's release. Kardashian, 44, claimed she had taken action to protect North's name from being used in a song with Combs, amid ongoing legal issues surrounding the music mogul.

The text exchange escalated with West telling Kardashian, "I'm never speaking with you again." Kardashian responded by reminding him of their previous agreement to trademark their children's names, ensuring they would not be used without their consent. "Amend it or I'm going to war," West warned.

In the background of this release, West has continued to publicly defend Combs, who is currently in jail awaiting trial for federal sex crime charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering. West previously voiced support for Combs, claiming the music producer is being unfairly targeted.

This latest song release, alongside the family drama and legal tensions, adds another chapter to West's turbulent public life, with controversy continuing to follow him.
