The Bukit Aman CID director, Datuk Huzir Mohamed said that it has come to their attention that there were certain individuals who were selling items with the logo of PDRM and Malaysian Armed Forces on social media.
The CID Director said that only members of PDRM and the army are allowed to use or wear items with those logos.
"If this activity continues, the PDRM will not hesitate to take action under Section 89(b) of the Police Act 1967 which carries an RM500 fine or six months' jail or both," said Datuk Huzir Mohamed in a statement on April 12.
He added that action could also be taken under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, which carries a maximum fine of RM50,000 or one year jail or both.
