So, as we inch closer to the end of the world, or at least what feels like it, the dream would be to follow the footsteps of this woman from Myanmar.
On Feb 1st, as the military literally took over the country, this woman continued on with her aerobics class, without a care in the world. A tweet by a fellow tweet-ee went viral, soon after the video of her performing aerobics in front of a barricaded road, was uploaded.
The video was taken via a post from the Facebook page of one Khing Hnin Wai. Presuming the dancer to be her, the woman in the lime green-black outfit, danced her heart out, to the beat of Indonesian hit song, ‘Ampun Bang Jago’. Based on the video, her happy dancing is then coupled with a fleet black vehicles rolling up, heading for the barrier across the road.
To date, the post has garnered over 15k shares on Facebook and 60.5k retweets on Twitter. Khing Hnin Wai then went on to upload other dancing videos, at the same location, minus the military of course.
According to NLD (National League of Democracy Party) spokesperson Myo Nyunt, it was reported that on the 1st of February, Myanmar's military had detained Aung San Suu Kyi, President Win Myint and other leaders. Then, later the same day, they removed 24 ministers as well as deputies from the government, and installed 11 new members.
The country's military had pledged a ‘free and fair’ election, and handing over power to the winning party prior to the election. However, when the NLD won enough seats to form a government in November of 2020, the army claimed the vote to be fraudulent, and began staging a coup.
