Good news, avid travellers! You can now add Australia to your vacation list as the country's expected to reopen its borders beginning Feb. 21.
According to the Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, international travellers and other visa holders are welcomed with open arms-provided there's a proof of double vaccination.
Meanwhile for unvaccinated travellers, entry is only permitted for those with a proven medical record (not being fit for the Covid-19 shots). To do so, a travel exemption is required and upon approval, they'll need to undergo a hotel quarantine.
The news came as a relief to the rest of the world, as Australia had shut its doors to foreigners since March 2020, on the grounds of Covid containment. The Land Down Under was even known to enforce some of the world's strictest border controls throughout the pandemic.
