"The Conjuring 2: Malaysia Version?!" Netizen Creates A Parody Teaser Featuring Bryan Wee And Adeline

One of the biggest events over the past weekend was undoubtedly the drama involving Malaysian influencers and two Facebook Live sellers. What was initially intended as a collaboration between Adeline and the Facebook Live sellers, escalated into a major dispute, even leading to a police report. The drama continued when Bryan Wee invited Adeline for another Live session, only to be interrupted by Yao Wang Herbal. (Scroll down for the summary.)

Following this internet uproar, netizens created numerous memes and parodies about the drama. One video, shared on a Facebook group, quickly went viral as netizens made a parody movie teaser of "The Conjuring 2," featuring Bryan Wee and Adeline.
Netizens were impressed by the teaser, praising the video editor for their creation. One remarked that the "movie" was a favourite, describing the storyline as "exciting and full of interesting action." Another netizen suggested that this was how a real horror film should be, with a "warning" that pregnant women and those with heart disease should avoid watching it.

Despite the positive reviews from netizens, one criticized the teaser, suggesting it had a negative impact on social media culture.

Here's a summary of the dispute:
Adeline Chang, previously known for her fare-dodging behaviour, gained social media attention. Two Facebook Live sellers invited her to join their selling sessions. Yao Wang Herbal, a seller of herbal products, invited both Adeline and Bryan Wee to their Live show. Initially smooth, things turned sour after a joke made by Adeline offended a relative of hers. Adeline refused to admit fault and has come up with multiple reasons why she was not wrong, while the seller demanded an apology. A similar incident occurred with another seller who sold laptops. Tensions rose as Adeline accused both Yao Wang Herbal and Seafood Malaysia (the laptop seller) of selling fake products. The situation escalated when Bryan Wee invited Adeline to a Live session, only to be interrupted by Yao Wang Herbal, who hoped that Adeline would return him the pay after she failed to fulfill her previous job requirement. Bryan Wee, visibly upset, shouted at his/her staff members and eventually left the scene with Adeline and her sister, Alice, while the Facebook Live is still ongoing. A police report was then filed by Yao Wang Herbal against Adeline, allegedly for not not fulfilling the job requirement and refuses to return the pay.

Netizens were divided on the morality of the sellers "utilizing" Adeline's fame and the rationale behind Adeline's actions. Many also questioned the credibility of the entire incident, suspecting it was staged.
