In an unusual and shocking turn of events, a low-ranking police officer was caught hosting a private party inside the police station lounge, bringing both local and foreign men and women to join in the festivities. The incident took place in the early hours of last month, on the 28th when officers from the Shah Alam Integrity Division conducted a surprise raid at the lounge of the Anti-Vice, Anti-Gambling, and Secret Society Suppression Division (D7) located at the Shah Alam district police headquarters.
According to China Press, the raid, which occurred at around 1:30 am, led to the detention of five individuals found partying in the dimly lit room, with loud music playing in the background. Among those present were two men a Malay sergeant and a civilian both of whom were connected to the D7 unit. They were accompanied by three women, one local and two Indonesian nationals.
The lounge, which had two doors, presented a locked exterior entrance when the Integrity Unit officers arrived, but music could still be heard booming from within. Upon unlocking the first door, officers discovered that the second door was not locked. Once inside, they were met with a dark room filled with music, snacks, cakes, and energy drinks.
Despite the surprise inspection, no illicit substances such as drugs or alcohol were found during the raid. However, the scene left officers questioning the appropriateness of such an event taking place within a police station. Following the discovery, all five individuals present in the room were taken to the Anti-Corruption Unit office for further questioning and investigation.
The incident has raised eyebrows within the police force and the public alike, highlighting concerns over discipline and conduct within the law enforcement community. While the absence of drugs and alcohol may have spared the officer and his guests from more severe charges, the blatant disregard for professionalism and integrity in the workplace has not gone unnoticed.
The police have yet to release further details about the incident, and it remains unclear what disciplinary actions may be taken against those involved. The raid has prompted a wider internal review of conduct within the Shah Alam police force, particularly among those tasked with upholding the law in sensitive units such as the Anti-Vice and Anti-Gambling Division.
This incident raises serious questions about accountability and responsibility, as the very officers entrusted with curbing criminal activity are now under scrutiny for behavior unbecoming of their position.
