A 23-year-old man, Fazlie Isa, has been sentenced to four days in jail and fined RM4,000 for recording lewd videos of his family members, including his grandmother.
Fazlie, an oil palm plantation worker, pleaded guilty at the Batu Pahat magistrates court. The charge, under Section 292 of the Penal Code, was read before magistrate Suhaila Shafiuddin, as reported by Berita Harian.
The incident came to light following a tip-off from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) about an internet link used by Fazlie to share obscene material. Acting on the information, police raided Fazlies home in Sri Medan, Batu Pahat, on the night of December 23. During the raid, police seized his mobile phone, which contained several lewd pictures and videos.
Upon investigation, Fazlie admitted to recording the videos and taking photos of his grandmother, aunt, and cousin while they were bathing or changing clothes in their rooms.
Under Section 292, Fazlie was charged with the possession of obscene material, which carries a maximum penalty of three years in jail, a fine, or both upon conviction.
The court imposed a four-day jail sentence along with a RM4,000 fine, emphasizing the seriousness of the offense and the violation of his family members privacy.
