The Menara City One condominium tower in Kuala Lumpur has been placed under enhanced Movement Control Order (MCO) due to 17 residents from the condominium was tested positive for Covid-19.
According to the Director-General of Ministry of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, said that the infected residents were linked to the Sri Petaling Mosque tabligh cluster.
The enhanced MCO will start from 31st March till 13th April, affecting around 3,200 residents in the 502 condominium units and business premises. This is to allow case tracking from unit to unit within the 14 days period.
The Defense Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, said that no visitors are allowed to enter, while all business activities, except for essentials seller, are to be stopped immediately.
He added that all entrances and exists to the tower will be shut off. Food deliveries can be dropped off at the security posts at the lobby. And a medical team will be based at the tower. While "Residents who need assistance can contact the special hotline at 03-2694 3243/ 03-4026 7222 or 013-329 5141."
Ismali Sabri also said that, police, army, Malaysian Civil Defence Force and Rela volunteers will be guarding the closed-off area.
This is the third place where the enhanced MCO has been placed, after an area of tahfiz schools in Hulu Langat and two villages in Johor.
