A reduction of carbohydrates intake is essential if we want to lose weight successfully. Rice and noodles are always enemies for those who want to lose weight.
However, a recent study conducted by St. Michael's Hospital in Canada confirmed that pasta will not contribute to weight gain although it falls under the carbohydrate category.
There were 2,500 experimenters involved in this study. One group of them was arranged to consume 3.3 servings of pasta a week, while the other groups were arranged to eat different carbohydrate foods, such as bread, potatoes, white rice, and others.
The final results showed that the experimenters in the "spaghetti" group lost an average of 0.5KG in weight!
In fact, pasta contains a comparatively low glycemic index than bread and rice.
*Glycemic index (GI): a relative ranking of carbohydrate in foods according to how they affect blood glucose levels. A dieter normally will prefer lower GI food.
Like beans and oats, it has lower sugar content and can provide longer-lasting fullness.
The result of this study seems to be a piece of really good news for pasta lovers.
Although the result showed that only eating pasta can help you lose weight, it is also essential for you to eat it in moderation.
Remember to maintain a balanced diet by taking other nutrients like fibre and vitamins.
Lastly, exercise could help you to complete your weight loss plan too!
