A man was found dead in a locked car at a house in Taman Rapat Indah here, late last night. Assistant Director of Operations Division of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) in Perak, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, said the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station received an emergency call at 12:20 am and arrived at the scene about seven minutes later.
"Upon arrival, our personnel found a man locked inside a Perodua Myvi. The victim is believed to have burnt charcoal inside the car."
"The firefighters proceeded to open the car door using specialized equipment. The victim received initial treatment from the healthcare personnel at the scene but was confirmed dead," he said in a statement.
Sabarodzi said the victim was handed over to the police for further action, and the operation concluded fully by 1:13 am
