On the plane, he also announced his retirement, saying:
Thank you for flying AirAsia and have a pleasant day in Kuching. And today marks a special day for me, it marks my final flight after so many wonderful years of flying, 35 years to be exact.
And I've spent every moment in the skies, bringing people together with their loved ones. 35 years have been truly magical. Thank you for trusting us with your journeys, your smiles, stories and kindness.
It has made this career fulfilling beyond words. Thank you all for being part of this 1 hour and 30 minute flight. It's been an honor and a joy to serve you as your crew in charge.
From the bottom of my 60 year old heart, I wish you safe travels and happy landings for many more years to come. Thank you and insya-Allah.
What a heart-whelming story indeed!
