Know any primary or secondary school students who are talented in tech innovation? Or maybe you’re one of them? Then you can’t miss the upcoming Malaysia Techlympics 2024 competition!
This year, the event offers over 40 modules, giving students the opportunity to expand their knowledge in Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) alongside peers from across Malaysia. Hosted by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), with Yayasan Inovasi Malaysia as a key partner, Malaysia Techlympics 2024 aims to equip students with problem-solving skills through technology-based solutions. It’s more than just a competition; it’s about empowering the next generation to contribute to economic growth, social development, and environmental sustainability for a brighter future.
Since its inception in 2022, Malaysia Techlympics has been a platform for Malaysian students and youth to showcase their expertise in STI. Now in its third edition, the competition continues to foster creativity and real-world problem-solving abilities with the theme “Mencetus Inovasi, Memperkasa Teknologi” (Triggering Innovation and Empowering Technology).
The Malaysia Techlympics 2024 kicked off in the East Coast region and will soon arrive in the North, Central, South, Sabah, and Sarawak regions, where participants will compete for a spot in the national finals in Putrajaya this November. This year’s competition introduces a new twist, emphasizing not only theoretical knowledge but also practical STI applications that address current industry needs.
Over 40 expert-curated modules will be available for students to compete in, each designed to reflect MOSTI’s focus areas, including:
- Hydrogen Economy and Technology Roadmap
- Artificial Intelligence
- Biotechnology (Food Technology and Precision Medicine)
- Startups
- Space Technology
